Directions and Tournament Information:

Directions to MCHS soccer complex
Take Exit 49 off of Interstate 75. This will put you onto Hwy 30. Turn
east towards Athens. You will travel on Hwy 30 for approx 4 or 5
miles.(sorry i haven't clocked it) You will pass through 8 Red lights
(you will pass Wal-mart, McDonald's, Taco Bell, through TWC, around
Downtown Athens). Just prior to the 9Th red light, you will see the
Athens Post Office. The 9Th light will be Park Street. (Citizens National
Bank is on the corner) Turn right onto Park Street. Park Street will dead
end into McMinn Avenue. The Field will be directly in front of you.

Parking will be directly across the street at the McMinn Senior Activity
Center. Our booster club is trying something different--they will charge
a $10 per car parking fee for the weekend, and NO admission charge to the
matches (just as is done at most club tournaments). We felt like this
might make it a little cheaper, especially for parents who travel
together. School buses will be allowed to park inside the gates or down
the block at City Park School.

Rules for scoring will be
Points will be awarded as follows:
3 points for a win 1 point for a draw 0 points for a loss

Tie breakers: should teams at the end of the tournament finish with the
same number of points, the following tiebreakers will be applied:
1) Head to head
2) Most goals scored
3) Fewest goals allowed

first team listed on the schedule will be the home team and will need to
wear white.

Teams may warm up on the fields next to the match field.

The T-shirts are in. If you want to send me your Teams sizes, we can set
them aside to guarantee that your team will get t-shirts. they are $10
each and i am afraid that they will go quick.

We are still working on Stage 3. Seating is somewhat limited, so parents
may want to bring a chair. And we only have 2 port-a-potties.

The JV game at McMinn Co. has been postponed today due to wet field conditions. The Varsity game will still be played at 7:00 pm. The Varsity will leave the school at 5:15 pm.

JV players don't forget you play at Bradley on Wednesday at 5:00 pm. Meet at Bradley at 4:00 and wear Blue.

We will do everything possible to make up the JV game from today.

This is straight from Bobby Earls. Note the seating arrangements and restrooms as well:

Take Exit 49 and travel east. You will travel approx 3 miles or so and
will turn at the 10th red light.( you will pass Wal-mart, McDonalds, Taco
Bell, through TWC, around Downtown Athens). Just prior to the 10th red

Take Rt. 60 like you are going to Dayton, TN. When you get into Dayton take a left on 27 (South). Take that all the way down until you get to the first Soddy Daisy Exit (Soddy Daisy/Hixson Pike). Get off the exit and take a right. That road will quickly dead end and then you'll take a left. The soccer field will then be on the left at the old middle school. You should see signs for it, but if you pass Brown's Tax Services then you have gone too far.

Cleveland vs. Cookeville and Mandatory Clean Up

Sorry for the lack of communication today, but I was outside all day scrambling around to get things organized.

Long story short we had to cut a game for everyone so we just have 1 game remaining. We will play Cookeville tomorrow at 1:00 pm at Cleveland Middle School. The complex is still has standing water and is unplayable. We will wear white for the game and the Varsity guys need to be there at 11:45.

Afterwards we will be having a monumental clean up effort and we need EVERYONE to help out!! We have to clean up CHS from today, the complex, and the middle school. We can't have just one or two people, we need everyone JV and Varsity, parents and players, to be there to help clean up.

If you read this please help me spread the word. Thanks for everyone's help already!!

Directions to Fletcher Park

A handful of people aren't quite sure where Fletcher Park is so I thought I would post some directions. I'll use Cleveland High School as my frame of reference.

Turn right out of CHS onto Raider Drive. Turn left onto Peerless. Go through the red light and go to the next stop sign. Turn left onto Georgetown road and take that until it dead ends. When you dead end take a right. You will drive about a 3/4 a mile and then you will see a pond on the left side of the road. When you see the pond turn right at the next road. This turns into TN Nursery Road and then Fletcher Park will be on your left.

These are probably the worst directions I've ever given. Sorry I can't remember all the road names. Call me if you get lost. Thanks

Alumni Game Postponed Until Saturday 3/7

We all know that weather reports are often times wrong, but if you've looked at the weather for this Saturday it doesn't look good. There is an 80% chance of rain and thunderstorms for Friday and Saturday. If this much rain actually falls on those two days then there is no way we are going to be able to play this Saturday. Therefore we are going to move the Alumni Game back a weekend to Saturday March 7th, and we'll just pray that there is good weather next weekend. It will still be at 4:00 pm and it will still be at the soccer complex, with dinner following at CHS.

I know that people make plans to come in from out of town on this weekend to play so I hope that I am getting this information out to you early enough. Please spread the word to others in this regard and let them know of the change. If certain people can't attend because of the change in weekend I sincerely apologize, but unfortunately I'm not powerful enough to control the weather.

Saturday March 7th is also the date of our Annual 5K Race at Fletcher Park. Registration is at 9:00 and the race is at 10:00. This year we are going to be giving half of the proceeds to Habitat for Humanity. So we'll run in the morning, play in the afternoon, and eat later that night. Should be quite a day. Like I said please let others know as well.

In regards to our scrimmage for Friday night I hope that we are still able to get it in, and we'll do everything we can to play, but once again it will all depend on the weather. I'll let you know if there is a change.

We will be having a CKC meeting Monday night at 6:30 pm in the CHS Commons. Please do everything you can to attend. This is an extremely important meeting because we will be discussing our upcoming tournament and season.

Just go south on I-75 to exit 7. Turn right off the exit onto Bonny Oaks Drive and the soccer complex will be on the left after about a 1/2 mile or so. The address is 6900 Bonny Oaks Drive. Remember there is a $5 charge for parking.

We are going to switch pictures to this Friday instead of this Thursday. They will be at the complex at 3:15 and then we will practice afterwards until 5:30. On Thursday we will practice at CHS from 3:00-5:00.
